White kraft or brown kraft: choosing your stock

The stock sets the whole look of your bag, so it's the first thing to decide.

White kraft is a crisp, clean white paper with a smooth, uncoated finish — the choice for bright, modern branding where you want colours to print true and a premium retail feel. Small and medium bags are 80gsm; large and extra large are 90gsm.

Brown kraft is a natural, fibrous paper with a rustic, speckle-like finish — perfect for artisan, eco-conscious and handmade brands where a natural look matters. Same weights: 80gsm on small and medium, 90gsm on large and extra large.

One important design note: white ink cannot be printed on kraft stock, and colours can appear more muted against the natural brown tone. If your branding relies on white or bright, true colours, white kraft is the better base. If you love the natural, earthy look, brown kraft is ideal — just design with its tone in mind.

Built to carry: handles and construction

A paper bag is only as good as its handles, and cheap bags fail exactly there. Ours use internal 5-ply folded paper handles, taped securely on the inside with additional reinforcement patches to spread the load and prevent tearing — so the bag holds its contents and your brand isn't let down at the door. The gusseted sides mean each bag opens quickly from flat, and because they arrive flat-packed, they store neatly until you need them.

Good to know before you order

We believe in being straight about what these bags are and aren't, so there are no surprises:

• Not food-safe, but suitable for carrying food-safe boxes and packaged items.
• Not waterproof — they're paper, so keep contents dry.
• White ink can't be printed on kraft, and colours may look muted on the natural brown tone.
• The base carries small print — a barcode, recycling icon and material information.
• Slight colour variation between batches can occur because these are natural materials. This is normal and doesn't affect quality or performance.

None of these are drawbacks so much as the honest character of a natural, recyclable paper product — and knowing them upfront means you order exactly the right bag.

• 300 dpi minimum resolution.
• PDF or JPEG format.
• CMYK colour — remember white can't print on kraft, and colours appear more muted on brown stock.
• Fonts outlined or embedded.
• Design to the printable area for your size — 120mm square (small) up to 220mm square (extra large).

What sizes do your printed paper bags come in?

Four sizes: small (240×180×80mm), medium (290×220×100mm), large (370×270×120mm) and extra large (450×320×170mm), with printable areas from 120mm to 220mm square and weight limits from 3.5kg to 6kg. Choose the size that suits your products and how much they need to carry.

Should I choose white or brown kraft?

White kraft is a crisp, smooth white that prints bright, true colours — ideal for modern retail branding. Brown kraft has a natural, rustic finish suited to artisan and eco-conscious brands. Note that white ink can't be printed on kraft, and colours look more muted on the brown tone.

How much weight can the paper bags hold?

Are the paper bags food-safe or waterproof?
